Position Overview:
Hydras is working on behalf of a global client seeking an Intelligence Response Analyst to join one of their operational teams for a minimum of 6 months. The client is seeking individuals who are familiar with the Energy sector passionate about monitoring global and local events and playing a key role in how they respond to incidents. 

The Intelligence Response Analyst will be monitoring various intelligence sources, going beyond the usual news outlets and social media to spot potential threats and incidents before they hit the mainstream with a view to protect employees, assets, and reputation. The Analyst will collaborate with teams globally to minimize risks and support intelligence-led security efforts.

Analysts operating in existing Global Security Operations Centres (GSOCs) posses a distinct advantage when it comes to demonstrating the required skills for the role. Individuals from recognised organisations such as META, Sky, Control Risks, ISOS, Everbridge, Crisis24, Dataminr and many others will be well-equipped and have a deep understanding of threat analysis, incident response, and the integration of technology in security operations. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gather, analyse, and interpret publicly available information and data focused on helping the team draw actionable insights while adhering to legal and ethical standards.
  • Follow procedures and also apply judgement and assessment to events
  • Keep a close eye on international developments that could affect company operations and the wider energy sector.
  • Assess the potential impacts and opportunities from geopolitical, economic, and environmental shifts, supporting decisions and strategic plans.
  • Collect and analyse various data sets, and share findings through reports and visualisations to drive action within the organisation.
  • Employ risk assessment methodologies and utilizing advanced tools for monitoring and managing security risks
  • Working Hybrid on a 4 day shift rotation basis

Qualifications:

  • Experience in an operational, analytical, or security role, especially in assessing threats and supporting real-time business activities.
  • Understanding of intelligence gathering and validation practices
  • Ability to identify physical security impacts and commercial impacts
  • Strength in evaluating tactical intelligence sources and knowing when to escalate issues based on procedures.
  • Strong skills in collecting, building, interpreting, and analysing data, along with excellent critical thinking abilities.
  • Familiarity with analysing and visualising incident data sets.
  • An understanding of global geopolitical affairs, especially regarding their impact on the energy sector.
  • Macro (broad geopolitical events) and Micro (localised events) understanding of security threats
